MY Q
I was blessed to call Q my Boaz for 47 years.
From the moment we began dating in 1972, I knew God had placed a truly special man in my life. Whether as quarterback or baseball team captain, Q’s natural leadership, strength, wisdom, and charisma drew people to him… and then there was that smile that inspired everyone around him.
Q embodied “Love in Action”—toward me, his mother, his family, his friends, his St James family, and especially his son, Justin, his pride and joy. He coached, mentored, and guided Justin, teaching him how to live with integrity and faith. Long before he held the title “Minister Q,” his love for the Lord Jesus Christ was evident in all he did—serving others, sharing his gifts, and pouring himself into people’s lives.
He especially loved our youth—mentoring, coaching, attending their games, school programs, and celebrations. Q’s life was a living example of Colossians 3:17: “Whatever you do in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”
Everyone who knew him felt his genuine care, compassion, and kindness. His life was a testimony of love and service—and his legacy continues to inspire us all.
